Can I keep my number?

Yes.  But there are some important points to note first.

In order to transfer your current mobile number over to your new contract, you will need to obtain your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) from your current supplier.  As long as your contract end date has passed, you can move your number to any other network or supplier, with no additional fees.

If your current contract end date has not yet passed, the supplier may still issue the PAC code to you however it is usually on the understanding that as soon as your number moves to your new contract, there will be termination fees to pay.  The fees are usually the standard line rental multiplied by the length of time left to run on your contract, but we recommend that you double check with your service provider.

All PAC codes follow the same pattern, three letters (which usually have some relevance to your supplier) followed by six random numbers.  For example if you're currently on Orange, it might look like ORG123456.

Please note that PAC codes only last for 30 days.  If you have not used it within this time you will need to request a new code from your provider.  You do not need to put a cancellation request in with your current supplier if you have requested a PAC code, once the mobile number transfers, it will automatically cancel your existing contract.

If you have more than one number that you would like to transfer, your provider should be able to issue the same PAC code for all numbers.  If they issue separate codes for each number, it's not a problem.  We'll just need to know which code goes with each number.

If you need more information, please feel free to contact us, and we'll guide you through it.
